The university town of St Andrews is an exceptionally attractive
place to hold the World Saxophone Congress XVI. The University's beautiful
main concert hall seats nearly 1000 and we have convenient rehearsal facilities,
a wide variety of performance venues of all sizes, and plentiful accommodation
and restaurants all within easy walking distance in this charming and
ancient coastal town.
The University of St Andrews gives its full support to this event, which
coincides with the University’s 600th anniversary celebrations and
with the Olympic Games in London. The University Music Centre will provide
its services, facilities and hospitality for the Congress. We will host an internationally renowned orchestra,
symphonic wind band and jazz ensembles for gala evening performances.
Recital applications are due by December 1st 2011, and registration
will be open on January 9th 2012.
Please browse our website for more information about the event and some
