Arkansas Saxophones were organized in 2000 by Jon Barbarotto and Jackie Lamar to perform at the Arkansas Bandmasters annual convention. The group is made up of Arkansas music teachers, university professors and students who play saxophone. Performers for this conference include Andy Wen, James Spurlin, Caroline Taylor, Daniel Cooper, Michael Hanna, Linda Townsend, Dru Wen, Brent Bristow, Barrett Parten, Dustin Jenkins, and Joshua Lane Jones. Jackie Lamar, Professor of Saxophone at the University of Central Arkansas is the conductor.

Chorale Prelude "In Dir Ist Freude" - Johann Sebastian Bach, Arr. Jackie Lamar

Chorale Prelude "In Dir Ist Freude" or " In Thee is Gladness" by J.S. Bach is based on the chorale tune of the same name by Giovanni Gastoldi. This arrangement by Jackie Lamar is from the "Orgelbüchlein", a collection of 45 Chorale Preludes.

Portals: A Prelude - Carl Anton Wirth

Portals: A Prelude by Carl Anton Wirth was composed for the Rascher Saxophone Ensemble and was recorded by them on Coronet Records.

Caprice - David von Kampen

David von Kampen (b. 1986) is a masters student in music composition and a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He has studied composition with Randall Snyder and Eric Richards. Caprice was composed for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Saxophone Choir.

Songs of Arkansas - Arranger Van Lamar

Songs of Arkansas is an arrangement of the four official state songs of Arkansas: Arkansas by Eva Ware Barnett, Oh, Arkansas by Terry Rose and Gary Klaff, Arkansas (You Run Deep in Me) by Wayland Holyfield and the traditional fiddle tune, The Arkansas Traveler.
