Matvey Sherling, born on October 13, 1999, is a student at Moscow Secondary specialized college named after Gnessin in the piano and saxophone departments. He is Laureate of The 1st Prix of Moscow open saxophone competition 'Selmer - to Children 2010' in two nominations - 'Classical Saxophone' and 'Jazz Saxophone', Laureate of VI Open Youth Delphic Games of the participated states of CIS (Yerevan, Armenia), winner at The XI International Televised Competition of the Young Musicians 'Nutcracker-2010'-Laureate of The 1st Prix and the holder of 'Golden Nutcracker', and holder of The 1st Prix and Diploma of Laureate of The IX Russian Rotary Children Music Competition.

Matvey Sherling performs in concerts and festivals with the renowned ensembles and orchestras of Russia: 'Hermitage' Ensemble of Soloists under direction of Alexei Utkin, Valeri Grokhovski's Jazz trio, SSO 'New Russia' under direction of Yuri Bashmet, 'Virtuosos of Moscow' State Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Vladimir Spivakov within the framework of The VIII International Festival 'Moscow meets friends', 'KREMLIN' Chamber Orchestra under direction of Misha Rakhlevsky; State Academic Grand Symphony Orchestra named after P. I. Tchaikovsky at The XI International Televised Competition of the Young Musicians 'Nutcracker-2010'; - and at the prestigious concert venues of Moscow: Concert Hall 'Gnessinsky on Povarskaya', The Theatre Hall of Moscow International House of Music, Concert Hall named after P.I. Tchaikovsky.

Fantaisie - Jules Demersseman

In addition to his works for flute, Demersseman, French composer and a close friend of Adolphe Sax, wrote some of the first works ever written for the saxophone. He wrote a Fantasy, virtuoso piece for the saxophone and piano.

«Concerto for alto-saxophone and orchestra» - this is a difficult virtuosic composition and it was specially wrote by Yuri Sherling for World Sax Congress. Moreover, the concert has recorded together with State Symphonic Orchestra «Novaya Rossiya» conducted by Yuri Bashmet.
